A recursive method for solving unconstrained tangential interpolation problems

An efficient recursive solution is presented for the one-sided unconstrained tangential interpolation problem. The method relies on the triangular factorization of a certain structured matrix that is implicitly defined by the interpolation data. The recursive procedure admits a physical interpretation in terms of discretized transmission lines. In this framework the generating system is constru...

A Multiquadric Interpolation Method for Solving Initial Value Problems

In this paper, an interpolation method for solving linear diierential equations was developed using multiquadric scheme. Unlike most iterative formula , this method provides a global interpolation formulae for the solution. Numerical examples show that this method ooers a higher degree of accuracy than Runge-Kutta formula and the iterative multistep methods developed by Hyman (1978).

Solving Euclidean Distance Matrix Completion Problems Via Semidefinite Programming

Given a partial symmetric matrix A with only certain elements specified, the Euclidean distance matrix completion problem (EDMCP) is to find the unspecified elements of A that make A a Euclidean distance matrix (EDM). In this paper, we follow the successful approach in [20] and solve the EDMCP by generalizing the completion problem to allow for approximate completions. In particular, we introdu...

A Numerical Method For Solving Physiology Problems By Shifted Chebyshev Operational Matrix

In this study, a numerical solution of singular nonlinear differential equations, stemming from biology and physiology problems, is proposed. The methodology is based on the shifted Chebyshev polynomials operational matrix of derivative and collocation. To assess the accuracy of the method, five numerical problems, such as the human head, Oxygen diffusion and Bessel differential equation, were ...

Weighted Model Reduction Via Interpolation

Weighted model reduction problems appear in many important applications such as controller reduction. The most common approach to this problem is the weighted balanced truncation method. Interpolatory approaches to weighted model reduction have been mostly limited to simply choosing interpolation points in the regions where the weights are dominant. In this paper, we extend the (unweighted) tan...
